In the early 1980s, Peter Wigglesworth's radical lighting, such as L1/INOX, used then-new halogen light sources. Designs under the rubric 'Unshaded Light' provided discrete sources of high-quality light at the ceiling, where general light is best distributed. Named after Joseph Round, whose discoveries led to the modern LED, the RL or 'Round's Light' series continues the focus on light-driven design.
